Project Description
PRESENTATION
The Vitruvian Man is a famous Leonardo da Vinci drawing. It was made around 1490, with pen, ink and wash on paper.
To ensure its conservation, it is kept in a showcase equipped with a refrigeration system ensuring a constant level of temperature and humidity.
The issue of climate monitoring during storage – that is to say mainly temperature and relative humidity – and in addition to the monitoring of shocks during transport, is a recurring problem of our partners in the Museum sector.
THE MISSION
Our distributor Bresciani SRL was contacted by the curator of the Vitruvian Man who wanted to transport it as part of an exhibition. Our distributor has recommended the use of a Newsteo Shock, Temperature and Humidity Recorder to monitor this data during transport and to send an alert in the event of a problem.
IMPLEMENTATION
- The showcase was equipped with a shock recorder
- The measurements were displayed directly on a PC, equipped with a radio receiver (RF-to-USB key) and RF Monitor software
RESULT
Quick setup
Several months battery-life, to cover the transport time
Radio data transmission, through the showcase
